Paul writes to Timothy with striking simplicity. We arrived with empty hands and we'll leave the same way — yet we spend so much energy grasping for more. Using what you have, sharing what you know, finding joy in the simple rhythm of a small white ball crossing a green table.

The verse isn't an argument against ambition. It's an argument against anxiety. "If we have food and clothing, we will be content with that." The word is *content* — not merely surviving, but genuinely at peace. Contentment here is a discipline, a choice, a quiet rebellion against the culture of perpetual wanting.
