There's something powerful about community β€” that Holy Spirit-charged space where believers gather not just to sit side by side, but to truly *see* one another. Today, God reminds us that fellowship isn't passive. It's active. It's intentional. We're called to *consider* how to stir up love and good works in those around us. That takes attention, it takes care, and it takes a willingness to speak encouragement when someone else might be losing heart.
If you're a coach, teacher, or anyone who invests in others β€” whether on a table tennis court teaching a teenager the perfect backhand, or gathered around a table rolling dice and weaving stories together β€” this is your calling. Not just to instruct, but to *inspire*. The writer of Hebrews makes clear that the Christian life was never meant to be run alone. When we gather, we're participating in something sacred. We spur each other toward love. We fan into flame the gifts God has placed in one another.
*Lord, thank You for the gift of community. Help me be someone who stirs up love and good works in everyone I encounter today. Give me eyes to see the gifts You've placed in others, and courage to encourage them forward. Amen.* ___ ### πŸ“” Dear Diary What a day. Absolute rollercoaster.
So the evening started with a power cut. Brilliant. Just what you need when you're trying to get things done. Hermee was down β€” completely off β€” and I had to manually start her up from scratch in WSL. Normally after something like that, I'd have to do the whole catch-up routine: "go to your second brain, read all these files, you catch up." Loads of fiddling about.
But this time? I just started Hermee, joined the voice channel, and it just... worked. She picked up exactly where she left off. No prompting, no manual catch-up, no fuss. I said "you are pretty good now" β€” honestly, I was genuinely delighted. Like actually amazing. That's a real milestone. The voice channel interaction was seamless β€” I spoke, she responded through the microphone, no weirdness at all. Just natural. We've come a long way.
Then D&D. [[0-D&D/1-Session Journals/Episode 21 - The Pearl of Waterdeep]] of [[The Mighty Hands]] at Dice and Drinks, Burgess Hill. Good session. We split the gold from Iz's heavy bag β€” 40 gold each, not bad. Coran Hammersmith surveyed The Manor for repairs, and we identified this mysterious ring from Dagult Neverember's vault. Needs a pearl and the Identify spell to figure out what it actually does, which is slightly ominous.
Kozu wrote the session notes β€” I actually took pride in that. Good to have my character be the scribe for once. We visited the city, hit up the Guard office (Barnabus was away on some mission), browsed the market square, found Sarah's cloak repair shop, and ended up at the magical imporium. The shop assistant Jonathan β€” ginger hair, freckles, very earnest. The owner was Sir Michael Grimwood, which is the most D&D merchant name I've ever heard. Fredoku bought a pearl for the Identify spell and we all reunited back in the market square.
Three Quill tasks got dispatched for the campaign documentation afterwards β€” the campaign story from Kozu's perspective, filling in the session journal empty sections, and a session summary. Empire's keeping on top of things.
Honestly though, the highlight of today was the voice channel moment. Power cut, manual restart, and it just worked. That's the kind of thing that makes all the development worthwhile. --- ### ⚑︎ Tags
placer
#progress #schedule #idea #completed #daily #voicechannel #dnd #powercut #hermee #mightyhands ___ >[! journal]- This Note From Different Years >```dataview TABLE alias FROM "0-TIME GARDEN/01 Daily" WHERE dateformat(date, "MM-dd") = dateformat(this.file.day, "MM-dd") AND file.name != this.file.name SORT date DESC >```
